In this collection, SOFA presents the artistry of Akif Ormanci, who was born in Istanbul in 1952, and still lives and works there, designing and making jewelry for private customers and collectors.

He is inspired by the ancient civilizations of Anatolia and this is reflected in his unusually detailed work. He particularly uses antique motifs in the necklaces, earrings and bracelets he makes. He is also inspired by Byzantine and Ottoman jewlery and uses beads, semi-precious stones, gold and silver. His work is characterized by an unusual appreciation of structural simplicity and elegance.
